Join the newly energized Allegany County Young Democrats (ACYD) on Wednesday, July 29 at the Washington Street Library Community Room on Washington Street in Cumberland. The meeting will begin promptly at 6:00pm.

I hope you will be able to join us. Please bring a friend! The meeting is open to any registered Democrat who is under 36 and lives or works in Maryland.

A happy hour / mixer will follow the meeting.

Obama's First Address
U.S. Flag Fundraiser

The Allegany County Young Democrats are raffling off a one-of-a-kind piece of history. On February 24, 2009, President Obama delivered his first address to a joint session of Congress and it was on this night that 20 United States flags flew atop the Capitol.

We were fortunate enough to secure one of these flags and are raffling it off with the proceeds going to our organization.

Tickets are $5 each or 10 tickets for $20 (an incredible deal) and are available from any of our members.

The drawing will be held on Flag Day - Sunday June 14, 2009.

About Us

The Allegany County Young Democrats is an organization of young people who, as Democrats, have an active interest in the present and future of Allegany County, Maryland, the U.S. and the World.

In order to be a member of Allegany County Young Democrats, you must be under the age of 36 and declare your affiliation with the Democratic Party - that's it!

Our members share many common views, and we have healthy disagreements on a few, but we're all united in our youth and in our desire to see Democrats get elected to office to support our shared vision.

Whether it's meeting with candidates, throwing great parties or working on campaigns, there's always something fun going on!
